Poor crowd turnout in Ahmedabad Stadium: भारत और वेस्टइंडीज के बीच अहमदाबाद में खेला जा रहा टेस्ट मैच एक बार फिर टेस्ट क्रिकेट के भविष्य पर सवाल खड़ा कर गया है। मैच के दूसरे दिन भी स्टेडियम में दर्शकों की बेहद कम मौजूदगी ने साफ कर दिया कि क्रिकेट के इस सबसे पुराने फॉर्मेट की लोकप्रियता लगातार गिर रही है। दशहरा और गांधी जयंती जैसी छुट्टियों के बावजूद खाली कुर्सियां देखकर यह स्पष्ट होता है कि फैंस का उत्साह अब टी20 और वनडे की तरफ ज्यादा झुक गया है।
वेस्टइंडीज की टीम इस समय भारत में दौरे पर है। इस दौरे में भारत और वेस्टइंडीज के बीच दो टेस्ट मैचों की सीरीज खेली जा रही है। इसका पहला मैच 2 अक्टूबर से अहमदाबाद के नरेंद्र मोदी स्टेडियम में खेला जा रहा है।
विराट कोहली की ये बात हुई सच
टी20 और वनडे फॉर्मेट के बढ़ते आकर्षण के बीच विराट कोहली और रोहित शर्मा जैसे दिग्गज खिलाड़ियों के संन्यास ने टेस्ट क्रिकेट की चमक को और फीका कर दिया है। यही कारण है कि कोहली का पुराना सुझाव आज फिर चर्चा में आया है। साल 2019 में रांची टेस्ट के बाद कोहली ने कहा था कि भारत में टेस्ट क्रिकेट को जिंदा रखने के लिए सिर्फ पांच चुनिंदा और खास वेन्यू होने चाहिए।

कोहली का मानना था कि अलग-अलग स्टेट एसोसिएशन में मैच घुमाने से वनडे और टी20 तो लोकप्रिय हो सकते हैं, लेकिन टेस्ट क्रिकेट को स्थिरता और माहौल की जरूरत है। उन्होंने ये भी कहा था कि विदेशी टीमों को पहले से पता होना चाहिए कि उन्हें कौन-से मैदानों पर खेलना है और वहां की परिस्थितियां कैसी होंगी। इससे मुकाबले चुनौतीपूर्ण बने रहेंगे और दर्शकों का रोमांच भी बढ़ेगा।
